Very light and well built BMX bike!!!, December 21, 2011 This review is from: Mongoose Article BMX Freestyle Bike (20-Inch Wheels) (Sports) After hours of research of the current line of BMX bikes (Haro, Eastern, Kink, etc...), I decided on going with this Mongoose. The matte red finish is a VERY nice look on this bike and looks much better in person then in the pics shown on here. It was easy to assemble and took only about an hour or so to put everything together. The bike is super light weight compared to the Tony Hawk bike that my son has. It is a very big difference from the cheap line of Mongoose bikes you see at Walmart, Toys R Us, etc. After much research, I found out that most of the higher line of bikes use the same parts and have about the same quality. So if you go out to Walmart and Toys R Us and buy a mongoose then it will have your cheaper parts on par with the Huffy bikes, Dyno, Tony Hawk. But as you go with the higher line of Mongoose, you will have the better parts and light weight bike on par with Kink, Eastern, Haro, etc. So far, it's been rock solid and no complaints.

To this day, I still remember VIVIDLY my very first Mongoose bicycle - the feel of that perfectly tuned bike and the envious looks from my friends. So, as my 10yr old had reached the point of being ready for a 'real' bike, Mongoose was the first place I started. I can tell you, I was very nervous when I started my research and the only bikes I was finding were the $100 and under WalMart/KMart/Target bicycles - this was NOT the Mongoose I remember!!! It wasn't until I visited their official website that I began to understand the difference between their 'economy' lines and the TRUE Mongoose branded bikes... ...this bike is, without a doubt, a TRUE Mongoose bike!
Putting this bike together on Christmas Eve brought me right back to being a 10yr old myself. I couldn't help but stare in wonder at the quality construction of this bicycle - it is absolutely a beautifully built ride... Read more
don't listen to the other reviews., April 11, 2012 By good times (Utah, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Mongoose Article BMX Freestyle Bike (20-Inch Wheels) (Sports) don't buy mongoose bikes. they have terrible breaks you cant do a tailwhip or barspin with out snapping a break. these suck. i have a sunday funday pro bmx bike and i love it. don't waste your money on this crap. p.s. funday is $1,200 a little pricey. if you wan't a quality bike for less than one hundred dollars get a diamondback joker.
